Absolutely! In addition to standing our ground on things like the pipeline, I believe we can create our own path to prosperity through building better business environments. If African entrepreneurs can innovate, create jobs, and attract serious investment (instead of aid), we will go a long way toward raising Africa up. There are multiple paths to this future, but the quickest lies in Startup Cities. I'm convinced that once a Startup City has a resounding economic success story, other cities (and other countries' governments) will sit up, take notice, and replicate it.
