Why I Sued Próspera Africa for Defamation
Update on my efforts to advance startup cities in Africa
I am writing with some personal and professional news to share.
Many of you know that I have built my reputation on principles of integrity, transparency, and ethical business conduct. My reputation is of paramount importance to me, and I will defend it at all costs.
Earlier last year, a group of my former business partners at Próspera Africa attacked my reputation by making false and misleading statements, accusing me of illegal and unethical conduct in connection with my separation from Prospera Africa. Although I hoped to put an end to their attacks privately, I ultimately found that I had no choice but to seek legal intervention. On December 23, 2025, I filed a defamation lawsuit in the U.S. District Court of Wyoming against Defendants Prospera Africa LLC, NeWay Capital LLC, Erick Brimen, Nicholas Dranias, and Tom Murcott. In the lawsuit, I seek to hold the Defendants accountable for their false and damaging statements. A copy of the Complaint is attached here.
While I am saddened to have reached this point, I feel that I have no choice but to take legal action to set the record straight and prevent further damage to my personal and professional reputation. The false and damaging statements made about me and my business practices left me with no alternative but to seek relief through the judicial system.
I am grateful for the legal protections that allow individuals to seek recourse when false and defamatory statements threaten their reputation and livelihood. I have full confidence in the legal process and look forward to presenting the facts in court. While I won’t be able to discuss the day-to-day developments of the lawsuit, I will provide periodic updates as the case progresses. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the lawsuit, please do not hesitate to reach out.
To see the facts for yourself, the Complaint can be read here. I look forward to a resolution that sets the record straight.
Thank you for your continued support—I appreciate each and every one of you.

You are a fierce lioness. Africa needs you more than ever. Blessings from Australia.
Magatte, I read the whole thing. Nobody who knows you would ever believe this. Who are these jerks anyway?! Stay strong. Love you! ❤️ Marion
